We are delighted to announce that ODS Orient has won the prestigious XXVI Euromed Convention in Athens as Best Customer was honoured. This annual event, organised by the Grimaldi Group, brings together leading players from the logistics, shipping and finance sectors to discuss innovative strategies for sustainable logistics.

The XXVI Euromed Convention: Innovation for a sustainable future 🌍

From 11 to 13 October, 800 top representatives from the industry gathered to discuss the challenges and opportunities for sustainable logistics and the path to a sustainable future. Net zero emissions by 2050 to speak. Innovation, alternative fuels and integrated logistics systems were at the centre of the discussions. The convention was characterised by inspiring contributions and forward-looking strategies presented by experts such as Emanuele GrimaldiManaging Director of the Grimaldi Group, as well as important personalities from business and politics.

Sustainable innovations in shipping

Grimaldi presented its latest developments and investments in environmentally friendly technologies ahead. Seven new ships have already been delivered, while a further 20 - including modern "Ammonia Ready" PCTCs - are under construction. These vessels will significantly expand the Grimaldi Group's fleet and contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. The new investments also include ports and terminals in Europe and beyond, such as the Terminal Darsena Toscana in Livorno and the Heraklion harbour. The result is a comprehensive logistics network that optimally combines efficiency and sustainability.

Insights from leading experts in the industry

This year's discussions centred on two main topics. In the first panel, "Innovation as a driver for net zero emissions", an international panel spoke about the need to promote technological advances and regulatory frameworks to drive green logistics. The second panel dealt with "The role of the public and private sector in improving port activities", with contributions from leading port operators and government representatives. The convention thus offered comprehensive insights into the role of shipping in the creation of a sustainable Euro-Mediterranean area.
